Sonder Santiago
Our take on the classic steel road tourer: smooth, reliable and assured. Built around a Reynolds 631 steel frame, Santiago is the definition of dependable. Capable of being battered, fitted with mudguards as a winter workhorse, ridden all day in comfort loaded with racks and panniers and pedalled around the world.
Sonder Santiago
Our take on the classic steel road tourer: smooth, reliable and assured. Built around a Reynolds 631 steel frame, Santiago is the definition of dependable. Capable of being battered, fitted with mudguards as a winter workhorse, ridden all day in comfort as an audax slayer or loaded with racks and panniers and pedalled around the world. Whatever your endeavour, Santiago has your back.
Reynolds 631 is the construction material for tourers because of its classic smooth feel, long life and ease of maintenance.
Santiago knows its heritage; cold-worked, air-hardened steel is steeped in the history of long-distance riding. But with bang-up-to-date geometry, Santiago has a refreshing feel that you know will be good for years to come: 450 mm chainstays, 1.1 m wheelbase, 71 degree head angle, a fork rake of 55 and generous tyre clearance. This makes for a truly comfortable, fast, assured bike, both in its own right (audax slaying, winter riding) or when racked up and loaded for multi-month travels.
Santiago is a weight carrying beast, capable of taking over 100 litres of storage with full traditional rack and guard mounts and three sets of bottle cage bottles for creating your own rig.
The frame is compatible with traditional 2x setups as well as more modern 1x groupsets.
As the Young Offenders said ‘there are two things you need for an adventure: a treasure map and a friend that’s dumb enough to go with you’. Meet Santiago, your friend for epic journeys that aren’t meant to end.
